Warren started shearing in 1980 and shore in the UK and Australia in the mid 80’s.
Warren brought a farm in 1988 where he farmed and shore sheep until 2005 when he sold the farm.
In 2011 Sandy and Warren brought Waimate Shearing. He has been very involved with shearing sports and is currently the President of the Waimate Spring Shears (and has been since 2006).
Warren is also the Chairman of the PGG Wrightson circuit and Vice President of the South Island Committee.
